Jeans have been my "go-to" clothing ever since we moved from India to the United States, 20 years ago. Over the years, I had gained weight especially in the abdomen and the hip area, and I had a lot of issues with the fit of the jeans that I once loved.
I tried different brands that are sold in the various departmental stores, but I was not happy with any of them. I found a few premium brands that did fit me well, but they were way too expensive. When I spoke to my friends, I realized that most of the women in my age group (above35 years) seem to face similar issues - especially those who are heavier in the abdomenand/or hip region. I wanted to come up with a pair of jeans that addresses this problem. My husband and I did some research and discovered that this market segment has been ignored by most of the brands in India. And Lotusline was born.
We put together a small team, including a designer from California, who believed in our vision and we came up with Ab Magic™. Ab Magic™ combines the innovative use of stretch denim fabric with a unique design that provides support to the abdomen area while accentuating one's curves.
We conducted multiple fit trials with over 100+ women across the USA, Bangalore, and Chennai. More than 90% of the participants said they liked the fit, fabric, and the overall comfort delivered by the product.
Lotusline jeans are for everyone, and for all body types and shapes. It gives me a lot of satisfaction when I get texts and emails from the women who were part of the trial, saying that Lotusline jeans havebecome their "go-to" jeans.
Finally, after several months of fantastic team effort and even finding ways to work through the restrictions and risks of the pandemic, we are now making our product available to a larger audience. This is just the beginning, and we have a long journey ahead of us in trying to makeLotusline the "go-to" jeans of every South Asian woman across the globe, who are just like you.
